Schaltbau Group increases EBIT in first half of 2015 by approximately 60 percent

Munich, 16 July 2015 – The Schaltbau Group has recorded sharp increases in order intake, sales and EBIT in the first half of 2015. Order intake for the six-month period climbed by 13.9 percent to EUR 259.4 million. Based on preliminary figures, sales rose by 19.8 percent to EUR 235.6 million, of which more than 54 % were generated in the second quarter. EBIT for the first half of the year came in at EUR 19.8 million, approximately 60 % ahead of the previous year’s corresponding figure (EUR 12.3 million), with second-quarter EBIT up from EUR 6.1 million to EUR 11.4 million. As expected, the net profit of EUR 14.0 million recorded in the first half of 2015 is lower than the previous year’s high figure of EUR 20.3 million, which had been benefited from the valuation gain recognised in conjunction with the increase in the shareholding in RAWAG.

Following the acquisition on 15 July 2015 of 65 % of SPII S.p.A., a company specialising in railway and automation components, the Schaltbau Group forecasts an increase in full-year sales to approximately EUR 485 million. EBIT for the full year is still forecast at EUR 37 million and earnings per share at EUR 2.91.
