Charging infrastructure made in Dinslaken (Germany) ensures clean air in Venice

Munich/Dinslaken (Germany), 9 September 2019. The Poland-based bus manufacturer Solaris is cooperating with the Schaltbau subsidiary SBRS GmbH (“SBRS”) from Dinslaken to equip a new line of all-electric buses for the Italian operator ACTV SPA Venezia. Solaris is supplying 30 “Urbino 12 electric” type electric buses and SBRS is providing the infrastructural equipment to charge their batteries. The electrically driven buses will replace the current fleet, which wholly consists of conventional diesel-powered vehicles on the islands of Lido and Pellestrina off the coast of Venice.

After the resounding success of their city bus project in Brussels (Belgium), Solaris is again cooperating with SBRS on this new venture. The Dinslaken, Germany-based Schaltbau subsidiary is supplying nine of its SEB-type fast charging devices, which are already being deployed in a variety of projects, both in Germany and internationally. SBRS is not only supplying equipment for charging en route, but also the appropriate infrastructure for overnight use at the bus depots.
