Schaltbau Holding AG: Bode Group appoints Dominic Daly as new managing director finance (CFO)

– Dominic Daly takes up new post as Managing Director Finance (CFO) at Gebr. Bode GmbH & Co. KG in Kassel with effect from 1 April 2020

– Gerhard Knöbel (COO/CFO) leaves Bode Group

Munich/Kassel, 6 February 2020 – Dominic Daly has been appointed managing director finance of Gebr. Bode GmbH & Co. KG with effect from 1 April 2020. With the clear separation of Operations and Finance, the reorganisation of the Bode Group’s management team is now complete.

“With the appointment of Dominic Daly as managing director finance, we are acknowledging the key importance of the Bode Group for the ongoing development of the Schaltbau Group. Following the recent appointment of Uwe Gerber, a highly regarded industry expert, as COO of the Bode Group as from 15 February, Dominic Daly will reliably secure the upcoming growth phase as CFO,” said Volker Kregelin, Chief Officer Mobile & Stationary Transportation of Schaltbau Holding. “At the same time we wish to thank Gerhard Knöbel for his outstanding support during the restructuring phase as Managing Director Operations and Finance and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Dominic Daly joined Schaltbau Holding AG in April 2017 as Head of Group Controlling and thus makes a seamless transition to Bode by taking up the post of Managing Director Finance in the management team, which comprises Dr Jörg Willert (Managing Director Road Vehicles), Thomas Giebisch (Managing Director Rolling Stock) and Uwe Gerber (Managing Director Operations).

In over 13 years of relevant professional experience in the rail and automotive sectors as well as three years in auditing, Mr Daly has gained excellent knowledge of finance and controlling in an international environment. Working in a number of executive positions in various subsidiaries within the Knorr-Bremse Group and most recently for the Schaltbau Group, he managed and successfully concluded numerous projects aimed at improving operating profitability, including restructuring and performance improvements.

Mr Daly graduated from the Technical University of Berlin with a degree in business studies and therefore a broadly based academic qualification for his future position. “I view the Bode Group’s growth strategy with its reliable and innovative door systems in the rail and automotive sectors and its production sites in Germany, Poland, Turkey and the USA as a particularly exciting starting position for taking on personal responsibility at this point,” Dominic Daly commented. “I am therefore greatly looking forward to working even more closely with the entire Bode team on the implementation of this strategy going forward.”

Gerhard Knöbel, most recently responsible for both Finance and Operations at Bode, is leaving the Bode Group to take up new professional challenges in the future.

Bode is a globally leading supplier of innovative door and boarding systems for trains, buses, commercial and electric vehicles and the number one in Europe. The company’s largest business segment is currently the rail sector, but it also intends to expand its automotive capacities significantly going forward.
