Munich/Kassel (Germany), 16 September 2019. Today, Dr Jörg Willert (56) took up his new appointment as Managing Director of the “Road Vehicles” unit (Automotive & Bus) at Schaltbau-Bode GmbH & Co. KG (“Bode”). The Bode Group is an internationally leading supplier of boarding systems, sliding door components and interiors for rolling stock and road vehicles and is responsible for more than half of the annual revenue generated by the Schaltbau Group. Dr Jörg Willert is replacing Robert Wittmann (53), who will remain in his capacity as Spokesman of the Board of Directors and head of the “Road Vehicles” unit until the end of September 2019 to hand over the reins in an orderly manner before continuing his professional career outside the Bode Group at his own request.

Thomas Giebisch (Rolling Stock) and Gerhard Knöbel (Operations & Finance) will continue as members of the Board of Directors at Bode.

Dr Jörg Willert has over 25 years of management experience in the automotive industry. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and has worked in various management positions at well-known commercial vehicle manufacturers and automotive suppliers, where he was responsible, among other things, for large cross-locational, international development networks, managed various business units and successfully realigned organisational and process structures. He spent many years at MAN (now part of TRATON, known as Volkswagen Truck & Bus until 2018) as head of omnibus development, and was most recently responsible for the “Testing & Prototyping” global business unit at Magna Powertrain.

Volker Kregelin, Schaltbau Holding AG’s Chief Officer for Mobile and Stationary Transportation Technology, commented: “With Dr Jörg Willert we have gained a recognised sector expert with a great deal of experience, particularly in the field of bus development and the profitable management of Group entities. These qualities make him eminently well equipped to expand Bode’s business with boarding systems for buses and sliding door components for road vehicles on a worldwide basis, and continue driving Bode’s success in this growing market. The entire Executive Board of Schaltbau would like to thank Robert Wittmann for the excellent collaboration over the last few years and particularly for the key strategic changes he was largely responsible for at the Bode Group. We wish him all the best for the future, both professionally and personally.”

Dr Jörg Willert added: “For many years, Bode has been a well-known supplier of reliable and technologically outstanding door systems that are highly appreciated by customers. I greatly look forward to contributing my wealth of sector experience and playing a key role in the further successful expansion of this highly promising field of business.”
