Schaltbau Holding AG increases shareholding in Albatros S.L. to 40 per cent

Munich, 22 September 2014 – At today’s meeting, the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of Schaltbau Holding AG took the decision to raise Schaltbau’s shareholding in the Spanish company Albatros S.L. from 5.6% to 40% without delay, as previously announced in April. Based in Madrid, Albatros S.L. develops and distributes high-voltage power converters for railway vehicles as well as systems for on-board information and communication. Its products include passenger information and safety systems as well as multifunctional terminals, but also brake assistance and energy measurement systems. The activities of Albatros are assigned to the Mobile Transportation Technology segment and consolidated at equity.

With this expansion, the Schaltbau Group is enlarging its product portfolio in the field of rolling stock and also strengthening its presence both on the Spanish market and in South America.

With annual sales of around EUR 425 million and a workforce of more than 2,600 employees, the Schaltbau Group is one of the leading suppliers of components and systems in the field of transportation technology and the capital goods industry. The enterprise supplies complete level crossing systems, shunting and signalling technology, door and boarding systems for buses, trains and commercial vehicles, toilet modules, air conditioning units, on-board communications and security systems, industrial braking systems for container cranes and wind power plants as well as high- and low-voltage components for railway vehicles and other applications.
