Automatic folding hinged door

  • Project period: 2009 – 2013
  • Location: Germany
  • Product category: Rail Door Systems

For the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Schaltbau Pintsch Bamag has developed an automated folding hinged door which has the following properties:

  • Automatic opening and closing by means of the control buttons on the door
  • Obstacle recognition in both travel directions
  • Generation of a “Closed and locked” message for integration into a train-wide door loop (if possible with the train control system)
  • Emergency switch function for each door
  • Acoustic door lock pre-warning
  • Connection to the train control system, e.g. 13/18-pole UIC line, bus system, FMZ-control or similar
  • Side-selective door blocking (if possible with the train control system)
  • Speed-dependent door blocking
  • Electronic door control with
diagnostic system for monitoring the door function optionally with MMS acc. to UIC557 form 1
  • Service interface (RS232) for the display of diagnostic data (history memory) and door signals by means of the PC software DoorScape

The properties described above are achieved by an electromotive door drive. This mainly comprises:

  • Replacement of the old blocking magnet including the door handle by means of an electric unlocking unit in the door wing with blocking function of the door knob
  • Motor drive unit on the rotatable column of the door
  • Passenger buttons for door control
  • Emergency switch with buzzer element
  • Use of a microprocessor door control

The manual operability of the door remains fully functional. This means that the door can be manually operated in case of an emergency shut-off triggered by an emergency switch or in de-energised state.
