Up to Q2/2016, Schaltbau RAWAG has produced over 160 sets of roofs for TRAXX 2, AC3, TRAXX RU locomotives manufactured by Bombardier Transport. Each set includes three different sub-roofs which were prepared for the integration of the locomotive’s systems. The roofs were designed as lightweight aluminum welded constructions finished with a special paint coat resistant to adverse weather conditions and damages coming from electrical discharges.

TRAXX locomotives are available as electric multiple units (EMU), diesel multiple units (DMU) as well as hybrid versions and are used for freight and passenger transportation. The main operators are Deutsche Bahn (Germany), Renfe (Spain), Trenitalia (Italy), MAV (Hungary) and PKP (Poland), as well as many private railway operators.
